Modern Atlanta “Design is Human Week”

MODERN ATLANTA. MA10 “Design is Human” (www.modern-atlanta.com), is a week-long citywide program which focuses on design excellence in many areas of life:  architecture, communication art, fashion, interior design, visual arts, and social responsibility. MA10 ranges from an opening night reception and modern design exhibition to a multi-layered fundraiser party for CARE INTERNATIONAL, along with lectures, unique activities, and visual art experiences including events at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art.

In particular, on Friday June 4th , at the Hill Auditorium of the HIGH Museum of Modern Art we will present a screening of the documentary movie “Citizen Architect” , engaging young citizens in the conversation “social consciousness in the business and professional sphere”. In fact above all else, this film offers a dialogue about what it means to be both a successful professional and a responsible member of society. The City of Atlanta Cultural affairs have put us in contact with various educational institutions and as on now we know that during the 1pm screening (tailored to students) we will have 150 participants. The Producer of the movie will be attending and together with Dr. Spitulnik (Emory Professor specialized in youth media engagement and citizenship) will be available for a A&Q section after the movie.  City Council member Kwanza Hall is also expected to come. On the same day but at 6pm we will have a remarkable talk/panel discussion on People Planet Profit. BeDo’s founder Marc Mathieu, the former head of Global Brand Marketing at Coca-Cola, is leading the development of this new enterprise at the intersection of human and business interests. Marc’s keynote presentation will be followed by an interactive panel discussion produced in collaboration with the Coles College of Business (KSU) and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Dr. Ken Harmon (Dean of the Coles College of Business),  multi-awarded marketing & communication expert (also founder of Mother Nature Network) Joel Babbit, and Atlanta Business Chronicle columnist/journalist Maria Saporta, will join Marc on stage to engage attendees with examples of innovative concepts and corporate behaviors that are already positively impacting our lives.

I hope you will be intrigued by what and how we are doing here at Modern Atlanta, and be part of such a remarkable movement aimed to spread conscious communication for positive changes.
